A few years back, I felt creatively “stuck.” I didn’t know how to get out of my rut.
Then I heard a person say, “You don’t wake up in the morning and then figure out what to do, you figure out what to do and that wakes you up in the morning.”
What’s worth getting out of bed for?
What’s good enough that you’ll put your phone on silent?
What work is so interesting that you’d never even consider peeking at Facebook?
Is there a project that you’d cancel all of your plans for?
If you can’t articulate or find something like that now, it’s OK. But be on the lookout—creative epiphanies only reveal themselves when you allow yourself to see them.
